Tourism App Template

I'm a total newb with apps, so please forgive my ignorance. I'm wondering how one gets local data when building out an app for a particular city using the "Tourism App" template. For example, is there an automated way to fetch hotels, B&Bs etc. in a given city to place in the app? Or would have to do that manually?

If I were to make a separate app for 100 different tourist destinations, would I have to go to a local directory page for each city and manually harvest that info?

Thanks very much!

Let me get back to you regarding this. I do have some great ideas on how this would be really easy for you.

Hey Guys,

Ok. Sorry for the delay but I've been trying to get my ducks in a row regarding this.

Personally I think there is one best way to accomplish this and you might laugh, but it's Wordpress. If you're not familiar with Wordpress, then you must check it out. It's a free website platform that you can easily build a website and add many features to it. If you're not sure how to install it, it's pretty simple. Many hosting providers like Hostgator offer one click installs, but you can also install it yourself by checking this out:

You need to make a tourism Wordpress website and then frame it in the app. Meaning you use the Mobile Site page type in the app builder and you pick the URL you want to view on that page for your app users. You can use as many Mobile Site Page Types as you want and use menus within the app to link them. Now there are many Wordpress plugins out there that cater to bookings and tourism such as: (Online Booking)

You can even get Wordpress themes that are dedicated to tourism. When using a Wordpress theme though, make sure it's MOBILE RESPONSIVE so that it looks good in the mobile app itself. You can check out some Wordpress themes here:

Here are some extra tourism plugins that can help out your Wordpress website and your app.

Now, there is a learning curve with some of this stuff so you'll want to try out a few and see what works the best for you. It's best to get decent hosting because essentially when your users visit one of your pages, it will be loading your website in the app. So yes, and internet connection is required, but internet connections are required for most apps anyway.

If you have any questions then let me know. Hope this helps.
